Companies that go in for innovative technologies win the market competition. Countries that go for in innovations are the leaders of economic growth, in addition to improving the living conditions of citizens. That is why innovation is the cornerstone of economic development in the EU countries, including Poland.

The Malopolska Voivodeship aims to be an innovation leader in Poland. The Malopolska Voivodeship belongs to the group of 28 EU regions attaining the fastest economic growth.

“There are 276 regions in the European Union. Therefore, our presence among the 28 fastest growing regions is a great honor. This is the very elite and we once again prove that we earned solidly the prestigious title of European Entrepreneurial Region 2016 given by the Committee of the Regions,” says Jacek Krupa, Marshal of the Malopolska Voivodship.

Foreign companies are increasingly willing to invest in Malopolska. Within 1995-2014, the number of foreign investors in the region has quadrupled. Innovation, new technologies and research are priorities. Besides the Economic Forum in Krynica, the region’s most important conference dedicated to innovative technologies and new trends in business is the Investment Forum in Tarnow organised for over 9 years. In 2016, during the Investment Forum, the competition StartUp Award for the most interesting projects of start-up was conducted in the framework of the project “Malopolska Innovation Area”. The most interesting start-ups from Malopolska will have an opportunity to advertise themselves during the 65th Jubilee International Exhibition of Innovation, Research and New Technologies BRUSSELS INNOVA 2016, 17-19 November 2016.

The following companies will present their inventions during the fair: Prodromus, presenting an automated home trainer, 3DKreator Sp. z o.o. with the 3D printer Motion Wizard, which contains the unique air filtration system “Syne”, neutralizing harmful chemicals released during the process of 3D printing and LGM S.A. with a technology for the control of electric power generators.

The project “Małopolska Innovation Space” was addressed to entrepreneurs from the region of Małopolska, who implement innovative solutions for business and are cooperating or planning to start a cooperation with scientific institutions in order to introduce or to develop an innovative product or service, mainly in the area of life sciences, sustainable energy, information technology and communication.
