The second call for project proposals of the Interreg MED Programme 2014-2020 will open on 30th January 2017 at 12:00 (Paris Time) and close on 31 March 2017 at 12:00 (Paris time).

Interreg MED 2014-2020

The main objective of the Interreg MED Programme is to promote sustainable growth in the Mediterranean area by fostering innovative concepts and practices and a reasonable use of resources and by supporting social integration through an integrated and territorially based cooperation approach.

In comparison to the 2007-2013 period, the MED cooperation has been slightly changed: Three new regions have joined the programme, namely Lisbon (Portugal), Midi-Pyrénées (France), Valle d’Aoste (Italy). The “Mediterranean dimension” of applicants has been a key argument for their selection, as well as the contribution they could bring to the setting-up of future macro regional and sea basin strategies in the Mediterranean:

EU Member States

  • Croatia: the entire country
  • Cyprus: the entire country
  • France: 5 regions – Corse, Languedoc-Roussillon, Midi-Pyrénées, Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur, Rhône-Alpes
  • Greece: the entire country
  • Italy: 19 regions : Abruzzo, Apulia, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Liguria, Lombardy, Marche, Molise, Piedmonte, Sardinia, Sicily, Tuscany, Umbria, Valle D’Aoste, Veneto
  • Malta: the entire country
  • Portugal: 3 régions: Algarve, Alentejo, Lisbonne
  • Slovenia: the entire country
  • Spain : 6 autonomous regions – Andalusia, Aragon, Catalonia, Balearic islands, Murcia, Valencia – and the two autonomous cities – Ceuta and Melilla
  • United-Kingdom: 1 region of the economic Programme – Gibraltar

Participating with the European funds of  IPA

  • Albania: the entire country
  • Bosnia-Herzegovina: the entire country
  • Montenegro: the entire country

Second Call

The second call will be restricted on different levels.

First, only three types of projects will be allowed: 

  • “Testing” projects (M2)
  • “Capitalising” projects (M3)
  • “Integrated” projects: “studying” (M1) + “testing” (M2)+ “capitalising” (M3)

No other types of projects will be allowed.

Second, applicants will be able to apply for one specific objective only and applications are not open to all specific objectives:

  • For “Testing” (M2) and “Capitalising” projects (M3), the following specific objectives are open:
    Specific objective 1.1
    Specific objectives 3.1 and 3.2
  • For “Integrated” projects, the following specific objectives are open:
    Specific objective 1.1
    Specific objective 2.3
    Specific objective 3.1 and 3.2

Project proposals will have to be submitted electronically using the online monitoring tool, SYNERGIE CTE which will open on 30th January 2017 at 12.00.
