India - contract for works to improve rail transport

The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation, public sector undertaking of Ministry of Railways through Government of India, has applied for financing from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) toward the cost of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project-III (MUTP-III) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for works.

The AIIB is a multilateral development bank with a mission to improve social and economic outcomes in Asia. Headquartered in Beijing, AIIB began operations in January 2016 and has now grown to 93 approved members worldwide. By investing in sustainable infrastructure and other productive sectors in Asia and beyond, the Bank intends to better connect people, services and markets that over time will impact the lives of billions and build a better future.

The works under the contract include construction of formation in embankment and cutting, blanketing, rock cutting, construction of major and minor bridges, construction of drain/retaining wall, ballast supply and removal of infringements in Panvel-Karjat section for Panvel-Karjat double line suburban corridor project under MUTP-III.

In this context the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation invites online bids from eligible bidders for above-mentioned works. Bidding will be conducted through international open competitive tender using request for bids according to the AIIB procurement policy.

Bids must be accompanied by a bid security and submitted online through https://eprocure.gov.in within 18th April 2019.

The project is to be completed in 36 months.
